The National Identity Card (N.I.C), known under the French acronym ‘C.I.N’, is instituted by Dahir n. 1.73.560 dated February 15, 1977 and Decree of application n. 2. 73.538 dated March 21, 1977.
It is valid for ten (10) years. The issuing of the card requires proofs of marital status and residence (see heading N.I.C). The validity is not extended.
The national Identity card is made in Morocco by the D.G.S.N (general direction of national safety). The time of treatment is approximately eight (08) weeks.
The National Identity card (N.I.C) is an absolute precondition to the delivery of the Moroccan passport for Moroccan nationals aged 12 and older, and aged 18 and older to any administrative service needed in Morocco..
